Introduction

I am British-born, US-resident volcanologist/neogeographer and undergraduate educator. My scientific interests incorporate a mixture of physical volcanology, geomorphology, remote sensing and other geospatial tools, such as Google Earth. My goals are to promote understanding and of the form and processes of the world around us through the use of innovative technologies.

Currently I am a research faculty member in the Geography Department at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). I work on projects as part of the Scenarios Network for Alaska Planning (SNAP) and with the Alaska Volcano Observatory remote sensing group. As a Geography department faculty member I teach classes on Neogeography and Natural Hazards, and I'm heavily involved an education/outreach collaborations between UAGP, Google Inc and National Geographic.
